What’s the difference between a margarine and I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! spreads?Take note, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! is not margarine. Margarine has a standard identity established by the FDA and must contain at least 80% fat. I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! products contain less than 80% fat and are, therefore, not classified as margarine.

What is I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!? Is it considered butter?The delectable flavors and creaminess of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! spreads, Spray, and Baking Sticks may remind you of butter, but it’s in fact not butter.
Whereas dairy butter is made almost exclusively from cream, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! uses a blend of plant-based oils, water and other simple ingredients to deliver a deliciously buttery taste. As we explore on this page, our Original Spread contains 2 grams of saturated fat and 60 calories per 1-tablespoon serving, compared to dairy butter which contains 7 grams of saturated fat and 100 calories per 1-tablespoon serving. Do I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! spreads contain trans fats?Nope. All of our delicious products – including buttery spreads, sticks and sprays have no added partially hydrogenated oils (the major source of artificial trans fat) and contain 0g trans fat per serving. You mention that I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! spreads and sticks are a source of “good” fat. What does this mean?I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! spreads and sticks are made from plant-based oils and are a source of good fats, such as being a good source of Omega-3 ALA*. Our buttery spreads are one good way for people to include good fats in their diet, similar to the good fats in avocados, almonds, and walnuts.

Can I bake with my I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! spreads?Recommendations from leading health authorities including the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the American Heart Association suggest replacing butter with buttery spreads that contain no trans fat per serving and are made with no partially hydrogenated vegetable oils (PHVO). *l Can't Believe It's Not Butter!' What oils are used to create I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! spreads?Soybean oil. Sourced right here in the United States. There is also a small amount of palm and palm kernel oils in there as well to ensure the spread has the texture and consistency our consumers love.

Why do you use palm oils?To deliver a smooth and creamy texture, of course! I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! practically melts in your mouth, thanks to a small amount of palm and palm kernel oils blended with other plant-based oils. I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! limits the use of palm and palm kernel oils so that we can offer buttery spreads with relatively lower levels of saturated fat than butter.

How do I preserve the quality of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!® spreads?Since our spreads have no artificial preservatives, we require a little special care. For best quality, we recommend using clean utensils for spreading. In addition, please ensure to place the product back in the fridge as soon as possible after use. This will help maintain freshness and product quality.

Can I reuse my I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! tubs?We love the environment, too! Many of our customers like to reuse our tubs for a variety of storage purposes. Just make sure to hand wash them first. Please keep in mind, our tubs are not designed specifically as permanent storage containers and may crack or even discolor more quickly than containers purchased for food storage. Since they are not permanent storage containers, they should not be microwaved or put in the dishwasher.
